NBSA Umpires

NBSA is always looking for candidates interested in umpiring in Northville.

No umpiring experience is necessary, however prior baseball/softball experience and or knowledge is required. Over the course of the 2-day clinic, prospective umpires gain an understanding of the rules of baseball/softball and learn proper positioning and umpire technique. To be considered an umpire for NBSA, an individual must attend the 2 day course and successfully pass a written and skills assessment.  This clinic is typically held in February.  Information about upcoming clinics will be posted here.

Umpires meet during the season, usually on the weekend for additional training sessions.   Individuals should be at least 14 years old at the start of the season to umpire.  If under 14, they would be considered with a letter of recommendation from an NBSA board member, coach, or umpire supervisor.

We teach the kids the rules, how to interact with adults as an authority figure, and how to run a clean game.  Umpires are only scheduled when they state they are available so there is tremendous flexibility and higher wages.
