NBSA Umpires The Northville Umpires Association (NUA) is responsible for both the assignment and umpiring of all baseball games played in Northville. This includes both the House and Travel leagues. For softball, NUA assigns only the House leagues. We are always looking for candidates interested in umpiring in Northville. Umpiring is a great opportunity for people of all ages to make some additional money and stay involved with baseball and softball. No experience is necessary. NUA conducts an annual Umpire Clinic for all umpires before each season starts. Over the course of the eight-hour clinic, perspective umpires gain an understanding of the rules of baseball/softball, learn proper positioning and umpire technique, and upon successful completion of a written and skill assessment, are given equipment for the upcoming season. NUA meets on a bi-weekly basis during the season, usually on Sunday nights, for additional training sessions, schedule and payroll disbursement. Individuals must be at least 14 years old to umpire. For more information, you may contact either the Umpire Director, Bob Boshoven, at (248) 347-5915, or Todd Sander, Assistant Umpire Director, at (248) 348-6677. 2008 Umpire Clinics
