House League Descriptions

Co-Ed Rookie Ball
(Ages 4-5) A fun first baseball experience for preschool ages played with soft foam balls and soft bats. The ball is hit off the tee, and the whole lineup bats. Emphasis on hitting, ground ball fielding and throwing, and running the bases.

League runs from early May through June.  Practices and Games are held on Saturday mornings/early afternoons.

Co-Ed TBall
(Ages 5-7) A beginning baseball experience for K-first graders. Players will be given the choice of hitting the coach pitched ball (using the tee after 3 strikes) or hitting off the tee.  Basic baseball/softball concepts are introduced, including base running, outs and scoring, although score is not kept.  Safety baseballs are used with 40 foot base paths.  Teams are formed around school, neighborhood and/or friend groups.

League runs from mid April through June.  Usually two games and/or practices per week on week nights.  An occasional game/practice on a weekend.

Coach (Machine) Pitch
(Ages 7-8) The players will hit a safety ball pitched slowly by a small catapult type machine.  Strikes and outs are counted. 50 foot base paths. An end of season tournament is usually included. Teams are formed around school, neighborhood and/or friend groups.

League runs from mid April through June.  Usually 2-3 games and/or practices per week on week nights with one of those being on a weekend.

NOTE: There is a year of overlap (age 7) between TBall and the Coach Pitch leagues. “Younger” players who cannot reliably hit a pitched ball should opt for the t ball league where they will still develop their hitting with the tee as a backup. Those players who can hit a pitched ball should move into coach pitch.

H-League
(Ages 9-10) Pitching, keeping score, standings and umpires are introduced to the baseball players. The first 3 innings use a pitching machine (same as coach pitch) while the final three innings are “kid pitch”.  There are 60 foot base paths.

After an evaluation, teams are formed by a draft and thus there is no guarantee that friends will necessarily be on the same team.

League runs from mid April through June.  Two practices per week for the first few weeks of the season and then about 12 weekday games plus a tournament and playoffs.  Practices during the season may be on weekends.

G-League
(Ages 11-12) Regular baseball rules (and hard baseballs) are introduced, except for limited stealing rules (e.g. no leadoffs) and run and pitch limits. Teams are again formed by a draft, following an evaluation. 70 foot base paths.

League runs from mid April through June.  Two practices per week for the first few weeks of the season and then about 12 weekday games plus a tournament and playoffs.  Practices during the season may be on weekends.

F-League
(Ages 13-14) Teams are formed by draft and play on the larger field. Teams also play against neighboring communities.

League runs from mid April through June.

E-League
(Ages 15-16) Full baseball, playing teams from surrounding communities.
